Inspiration & Ideas

Inspiration doesn't always arrive as a complete idea. Sometimes it begins with a photograph, a color, a piece of music, an unusual shape, or something I notice in everyday life. One small idea can gradually develop into an entirely different visual story.

I enjoy exploring possibilities before deciding where a painting will go. I may change a background, combine ideas from several references, experiment with composition, or simply allow the painting to evolve as I work.

This is where I'll share some of those beginnings—the ideas, observations, experiments, and unexpected sources of inspiration that eventually find their way onto the canvas.
